Spiritual Formation Program

Spiritual Formation at St Joseph’s Nudgee College is based on the College Mission Statement and the recently released Edmund Rice Education Australia Charter Touchstones.

The College Mission Statement calls forth all those involved with the Nudgee College community to celebrate the diversity of all and create an environment where all are treated with dignity and respect. The mission challenges all community members to develop holistically and be faithful to the vision of Edmund Rice. The community is challenged to answer the call of Jesus by serving the poor and outcast and become a Sign of Faith to the whole world.

Last year Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) launched its new Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition. This Charter gives those involved in Edmund Rice schools clear guidelines on how we teach, make decisions, interact, and be followers of Jesus who walk in the footsteps of its founder, Edmund Rice. The Charter gives Four Touchstones for us to follow: Gospel Spirituality, Justice and Solidarity, Liberating Education and Inclusive Community. This year, Nudgee College students will be exploring the call of the charter through assemblies, other curriculum areas including their Religious Education lessons, broader studies, retreats and social justice initiatives.

All students partake in formation programs within the College which include retreats, justice and peace service and solidarity opportunities, liturgies and prayer gatherings.
