Nudgee College's Music program provides students with professional education for instruments such as:

  • Woodwinds: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe and Bassoon
  • Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Euphonium, Tuba
  • Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass
  • Percussion (Includes Mallet Percussion and Drums)
  • Guitars: Electric, Acoustic and Bass (Classical and Contemporary)
  • Voice: Classical and Contemporary
  • Piano: Classical and Contemporary
  • Theory of Music and Musicianship (ANZCA, AMEB and TCL)

All Music teachers are professionally qualified, highly experienced and able to provide weekly private tuition on an instrument of a student's choice. Nudgee College also provides private Music theory classes so students can read, write, compose and analyse music, which is useful for students wishing to study music at a university level.

The College also strongly encourages all instrumental students to participate in one of the major bands or ensembles, including:

  • The Stage Band
  • NC DrumLine
  • Rock Bands 1-4
  • NC Voices
  • NC Junior Voices
  • Liturgy Band (including Strings)
  • Guitar Ensemble
  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Junior Band

Talented musicians may also have the opportunity to nominate or audition for inclusion in the GPS Music Showcase (Senior School) and the Junior Music Day of Excellence (Junior School) each year. These are representative events at GPS level. Each year the College also arranges a regional Queensland Tour for some of our senior groups.
